Tips on creating a new remote working software team

Hi,

We are researching into setting up a team of approx 8 remote workers for running a cloud based system, with a microservice-like architecture utilising continuous delivery pipeline. The key objectives of the platform will be flexibility and should allow developers to concentrate on their software rather than the infrastructure.

The team would consist of sys admins responsible for cloud services, delivery pipeline and the microservice infrastructure. Alongside software engineers for the different applications.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or insights on how best to hire or source such a team? In addition, if you have any feedback on this post it will be most appreciated!!!
