When you have a project that isn't in your wheelhouse, how do you find someone to share it with?

As a remote worker, what's your go-to when you need to refer a gig out (as in, it's not exactly what you do but you're invested in ensuring the company finds the right person)? Oftentimes people don't want to post the actual project on a forum or a group, and sometimes your network falls short. What's your backup plan for helping a client find the right person for their needs?
